According to 29 CFR Subpart I, eye wash station should be located within 10 seconds of a hazard area.
Procedure for flushing eyes: If employees accidentally get something into their eyes, they must go directly to the eye wash station and flush their eyes with water for 15 mins. The employees should hold their eyelids open and look "directly into the water stream." They should not rub their eyes. Rubbing the eyes may scratch or embed particles. Once they have flushed their eyes with water, employees should seek medical attention immediately.
You may include this procedure in your written exposure control safety plan.
